Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What Gruppo are you running?

I've always assumed the majority of people on here rode shimano. But you never know for sure, so I thought I'd see.

If you have more than one bike, use your race bike. If you don't race use the bike you ride most often.

I probably shouldn't respond to this one, but... when I run my tubulars:

Chorus Crank
Veloce BB
Record Hubs
Sachs Freewheel
105 rear der.
600 front der.
Record headset
Campy left shifter (DT)
Suntour right shifter (DT)
105 left brake lever
600 right brake lever
Royal Gran Compe brakes
105 pedals (of the clip variety)

When I hit the lottery, I'll go full Campy for sure!@!!

Dang, I didn't see the poll, I don't know what to vote! I guess I have more 105 components than anything else, if you count the pedals independently.

I'm going with "Other"

That is so many different parts on one bike, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.

I used to ride a Shimano bike, but I wanted to try out SRAM because of how it's supposedly close to Ultegra in performance, but 105 in price. So far I like it more than Shimano.

My main ride is a Chorus/Record 10 mix(i voted it as Chorus), I've another that's a Centaur/Chorus 10 mix and another that's a mismash of Record,Chorus and Centaur 10.
Then there's some vintage bikes that all get ridden fairly regularly ranging from classic Super Record/Nuovo Record, another with Mavic SSC & Stronglight , one outfitted with lower end Simplex and another with a Cambio Rino Crono group.
My wife rides Campy Centaur10, vintage Shimano Dura Ace EX and finally a Shimano Nexxus 8 internal hub on her other wise Shimano-equipped city bike.

What about mixed groups? I'm planning to build a frame using DA/Ultegra/105, for example; I'd also use a Shimano crank if I had Sram.

All of our road bikes are Campy. 3 are Chorus, and the 2 old ones are Mirage.

My last two bikes were 105. My current bike is full rival with force cranks. Not sure what i like better, cause its hard to beat the smoothness of shimano stuff.

One bike has 105 shifters, FD, RD, and crank, plus Red cassette and Tektro brakes.

The next bike will have DA 7800 shifters, Ultegra 6700 FD and RD, the same Red cassette (keeping the wheels), 105 brakes, and R700 crank w/ DA BB. Unless I switch to something else, which I think would be Sram Rival with an Ultegra crank (although I like the black finish of 105).

SRAM mixed group. Was on Shimano only for over 20 years. Shimano has messed up. SRAM is going to kick it's ass.
