Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What water bottle cages do you guys use?

I'm curious to see what you all use to hold water bottles on your bike. I am currently looking at getting the newer FSA one, as it's only $40, but was wondering if anyone out there has ever used it before. Thanks a lot guys.

I have used the Cinelli Ram Carbon cages for the past 4 years. Spent a bit of money on them as the cheaper ones just dont last. Have had them on the last two Colnagos I have owned. You will not find better!!!

Save your money and just buy regular aluminum bottle cages for $5 at REI or Wal-Mart.

unless you're counting every nanogram, and want the bling factor, cf cages are a waste of money IMO, and they're a set shape.

i'm a fan of stainless steel cages, like this rei one, they're $10 a piece and should last pretty much forever.:

you can always bend them slightly to accommodate different bottles.

I'm using some Performance cages I've had forever, one is 41g, the other 42g.
Fits bottle perfectly.

I've noticed many cages that just don't fit bottles well like they don't have a consistent circular cage along the bottle length.

Alpha Q. They came on the bike...

In the past I've bought the stainless steel ones, they work.

why aren't more bottle cages made of plastic? plastic is really light and how strong does a dumb bottle cage really need to be?
