Trek 1.2 BB type?
Hi
Looking for some help here. I have a 2008 Trek 1.2 and I'm starting to hear some funky noises (clicking) when putting down some force on my cranks. I think they are coming from the BB area. Anyway, I've been thinking about upgrading to 105 ish componentry anyway (2200 isn't all that grand) but I don't know what my BB type is.
Here is the bikepedia page, and as you can see it lists it as unspecified.
It would be super sweet if they were either english 68 or italian 70 (found a good deal on those), but I'm just looking for the truth
If i remember correctly there is a BF member out there with a Trek 1.2 who replaced the group with rival. If you read this I'd appreciate your input.
thanks

Thanks very much...
So as a follow up question would this work as a replacement?
I would hopefully use the bb with a shimano 105ish compact crankset.

Yes, and holy crap...$15??? That is a steal for last year's Ultegra bb. The only caveat is that the crankset must be the newer (not so new anymore) type where the drive side chain rings and the axle are one piece. Like in this picture. By the way...for a budget compact crankset, the FC-R600 and 700 are great deals. They have both at BikeWagon and they come with the bottom bracket. I forget why the chainrings don't conform to the standard Shimano naming conventions but have read that the 600 is of 105 level and the 700 is ultegra level.
I notice that the 600 only comes in a 175mm length at BikeWagon.

Last question
I'm a bit more pinched for funding than I originally thought. If I bought the crankset mentioned by dstrong, could I use Shimano 2200 shifters until I can afford to get better shifters?
