Why Look Forward To '11 Bikes?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why Look Forward To '11 Bikes?

I am waiting in anticipation for the new '11 line of Trek road bikes. Then, I asked myself: "why?"

The new bikes are going to be more or less identical to the '10's, only with slightly different paint jobs and an additional $100-$200 added to the price tag. Why should I look forward to that?!?

Aside from the new 105, perhaps the only logical reason to look forward to the '11's is that the '10's will be discounted.

What am I missing here?

I wonder if the '11 Madones will detonate in even more spectacular and interesting ways than the '09 and '10 Madones?

Anyone know when the 2011 Felts will be coming out? I'm drooling over a 2010 AR series, but am trying to patiently wait for a discount on a soon-to-be "last year's model."

I'm wondering if the 5 series will change for next year to match the changes of the 4 & 6 series?

Most 2010 AR's are gone, unless your dealer has one on the floor.

From the bits and pieces I've gotten from our manufacturers, the prices are going to stay the same

I would not wait for the 2011's if all you want is a better price on a 2010. Negotiate now.

I was told at my LBS that Specialized is making the Tarmac line into a more crit-centric bike since they have the Secteur now for the sport/comfort road market.

If you want a new Felt, make sure you preorder. They sell like hotcakes and backorders take forever.
