Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Friday... 113mi 6300ft climbing 7:15 ride time. A bit slower than we wanted but we got a bit lost and were not going hard for about 10miles. 5 miles in we came across a washed out bridge from storms a while back.. in Oregon Trail tradition we forded the river! (Little Timmie drowned, i knew we should have paid the guide)

I did a 72 miler from metro Boston to Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, MA on Saturday. My first foray over 50, and the 93º heat did not help! Good ride overall, and a good learning lesson about the importance of Gatorade and water in the summer heat.
