Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sorry for my noobness, but Im new to bike builds

I am building up a bike for my gf because I would love to have the satisfaction of building up a bike and it would get her riding
I feel as though I am missing something though and want to check with you guys to make sure I have everything so when I start building I dont have to slow down the build by waiting for something to be shipped to me.
Okay so here is the list:
-Ebay Frameset w/ frame, fork, headset, handlebars, seatpost, saddle, stem, bottle cages (yea, I know it is ebay and she will be shunnnnedd, but it is getting custom painted lime green......she picked it)
- SOUL S3.0 Wheelset and Skewers
- Continental GP4000 Tires(x2) and Continental Tubes(x2)
- Fizik Microtex Handlebar Tape
- SRAM Force Groupset
- Speedplay Zero Chromoly Pedals

If I am calculating everything correct, that means it will only weigh 14.42 lb. (which is another reason why I think I am missing something)
Oh and another benefit is....she has about the same measurements as me

I see handlebar tape...is there a handle bar included in there somewhere? Cables, endcaps, ferrules? Maybe a computer? I don't want to assume.

Are you buying a carbon frame?

Here's my complete list

https://img809.imageshack.us/img809/748/47258875.jpg

Weight isn't completely accurate.

On that list I didn't list cable ferrules. Stuff like bar plugs and bottom bracket cable router came with my bar tape and frame.

Just make sure she can reach the levers, you would be surprised at how the curvature differs brand to brand.

If she can't grab a good handful when behind the levers, I would swap the bars ASAP. She needs to be comfortable with the brake reach.

She would be getting a professional bike fit so I know some of the parts will probably have to be taken off and other parts to replace, but oh well. She doesnt care much for how much it weighs....just has to be under 18lb. haha

For parts not mentioned, Rim tape. Use Velox. Even if the wheels come with rim tape, unless its Velox, replace it with Velox. Also you'll likely need headset spacers.

As for the weight of the bike, they tend to take on weight in the build. Some of this is tiny unaccounted stuff, like grease. Mostly, it's imprecision (deception?) in the stated weights of components.

My bet when you're done that bike will be at least 16lbs

I know someone with the same bike with 80% of the same components. IIRC, her bike was 14kg, so 31 lbs. Don't worry though, weight won't matter if she's n00b.

Well if it is over 18lb. she will have to start riding with only one brake and no saddle or seatpost. Itll be a better workout and itll make her sprint more
thank you so much for help for everyone, as I said the weight doesnt matter as much as buying all the parts and then forgetting something (like the Volex rim tape. that is actually a neat idea!)

Pics when you are done please, I'd love to see the lime green paint. I'm a sucker for anything lime green.
How much for the paint job?
