Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So Versus just had a clip on the new sram red on Lance's bike. It's a yellow sram red version that is new for this tour. Anyone have any info on this group??

i dont know what shimano or campy is waiting for with the commercial where AS says "I'm AS, and i chose sram" followed by clips of his drivetrain essentially killing his chances of winning the tdf.

Nice, and I'll bet it will be costly, but then I may be able to justify a red purchase.

Agreed, the Yellow that you see on the Tour is just a special edition of the SRAM Red gruppo, just with yellow graphics instead of red.

yeah, I don't think it was just paint. Versus said it was a new gruppo line from Sram.

But, it was a different color, so yeah, it was also new paint.

I just created a special yellow version of R310 Shimano shoes with removable (with acetone) stripe. They're costly, but worth it to show you really love yellow. PM for details on where to send the western union.

i remember...

...reading, last year, that the RD of this RED gruppo was ultra light, but not ultra great, like those of its competitors.
i'm just glad it happend to AS when he was trying to put on the gas!
poor guy though.i wonder who'll be providing Saxo Bank with gruppos next year is AS loses by like 10 seconds (unlikely. it will be bigger)

FWIW, it seems like "yellow paint makes you faster" is about as rational and empirically verified as most other assertions by BF posters....

Yellow is the color of fear. As in I'm afraid my friggin chain will fall off at the worst possible moment in the biggest stage race of the year.

Stupid Sram.

I thought LA purchased the copyright to the color yellow? Every time I ride my Cannondale tandem I'm looking over my shoulder for a process server.

It's a "limited edition" so I bet it will make them some money.

They must have put the summer intern on this one.
