Would you sell a BMC Road Racer to buy a Caad10?
I'm sitting here looking at the pics and reading the specs from the still unreleased Caad10 and it has me really excited. I currently ride a BMC Road Racer with a mix of 5600 105 and Ultegra SL and I'm thinking of selling it to pick up the new Caad10. My plan is to pick up the 105 version, remove all the 105 parts, sell them, and buy a Force groupset. This should make the bike cost about as much as the Rival version considering the going rate for Force on Ebay right now. This is assuming the 105 bike comes with the same frame and fork specs as the Rival bike. Apart from the caad10 just exciting me, I also like the fact that Cannondale has the frame trade in program that could be helpful if I crash when I get back to racing next season. If I crash the BMC then I'm on my own.

If it were me? I'd just keep the BMC. I doubt there's enough difference to make spending all that money worth it. Deciding to buy something isn't entirely rational though. If you have the money to burn and just want a CAAD10, go for it.

I've been wanting to make the switch to sram for a while, my hands don't really agree with the shimano hoods. Going with the Caad10 I would be getting the new bike and SRAM for what will probably be less out of pocket than buying Rival for my current bike. In the end I know it's not very rational, but who doesn't like shiny new toys

Have you owned a CAAD before? Before jumping on the band wagon you should test ride one extensively.

I'd keep the BMC, unless you don't like it.
The BMC is very appealing visually, which is a plus. So is the CAAD10, but in a more traditional sense.
It'll probably cost you a bit of extra money to do all the selling and buying to get a Force equipped CAAD10.

Haven't ridden one, before I would do anything I would definitely do a long test ride on it. I know they're considered harsh bikes, but the BMC isn't exactly a comfortable bike and I don't mind it at all.

Has anyone seen the paint scheme for the Rival Caad 10. The 2011 European catalog has been floating around the internet, but they don't have Sram models in the their line up. That said the ultegra version in Bezzerk Green looks sweet

from a monetary/practical standpoint, its an idiotic move, but, considering that this is road cycling, to quote ms. crow "if it makes you happy..."

Any way you can keep the BMC and buy the Cannondale? As a CAAD9 owner and lover, I have to recommend the CAAD10. I would like to own a BMC as well though. Do whatever you want though.

caad10 does nothing for me visually; if it doesn't look cool it's not worth it.

Going from a Road Racer to a caad just looks more of a sidegrade than anything else. Even if you crash the caad you still have to fork over $500-600 for the replacement frame so it's not like you are saving any money by going that route.

i've been struggling with the full force on ebay for $900 shipped. I've seen the 8 piece rival for $650, personally the dollar:gain isn't there for me personally with red. I wan't to do the rival on the BMC but I know I'll get pennies for the ultegra/105 stuff, I figured selling the complete bike would probably bring in more money than individual parts.
