My new CAAD9...
Picked up my new CAAD9 today.
Just like I was hoping for, it came with the new black 105 (5700), black bar tape, and a black saddle.
YAY.
Now I just have to pack it back up in the box, since I'm taking it overseas in two days.
I'm going to go ahead and say it so you guys can't...
FLIP IT
and
CUT OUT THE DORK DISK
For the record it weighs exactly 20 pounds with reflectors, dork disk, and pedals. It'll be just over once I add some cages and a computer.

I see you have another in the same color - LOL. I was going to pull the trigger on a Gary Fisher road bike this color, but I just couldn't do it. I bet it rides nice!

Actually that's my little sister's bike from college...lol
Definitely rides nicer than my crappy Schwinn (the bottom bracket bearings were starting to come apart...).
The Q-factor is so much smaller that my legs sometimes rub against the top tube. This means my knees aren't being forced to turn out and come back in anymore.
I'm hoping to get a computer on it soon to see what my new "base speed" is in the drops (probably at least a MPH or two faster).

That looks pretty slick. I'm digging blue.
You'll have to let us know how the new 105 is. Ultegra 6700 was a pretty good upgrade. I'm curious to see how far they went with 5700.

It feels about the same as Tiagra did on my test ride, except the levers are shaped more like Ultegra now, and you get one more speed.

I have the 2010 in that Nu blue with white tape and a black seat. I love the color and the only other caad9 5 was this gray/black and red combo and not for me. I wish mine came with the white seat as well but what r you gonna do. Love the bike and will upgrade wheels next year to some nice mavics.

I figure it'll have paid for itself in a year if you include gasoline and long-term health care costs
I think a bicycle or a car are one of the few things you can really justify buying on credit.

Not exactly. I used a balance transfer check that gives me 3% APR for a year (had to pay $60 to get $2000 in credit). I could have waited for a better deal (my other 0 APR checks expired).

The only reason I bought it here is because the CAAD9-5 costs $1000 more where I'm going, and you can't get it in blue either.

I don't even have a credit card because I refuse to pay for something unless I can do it in cash (or debit). I probably should though, I won't have any credit when I need to buy a house.

CAAD9's are so pretty. I kind of wish I had one.
A lot of guys have them and use them at the local crits. There's a guy that has an all black CAAD9-1 with Zipp 404's and SRM with a black Fizik and black bar tape. It's so pretty.

man that dork disc is huge. I left mine on because you cannot even see it unless you look closely. It's the exact same diameter as the 25 cog on my 2009 CAAD9-7
