Quick release lever stiff!

Basically after watching some videos about how to take off my front wheel i did it, with success. Putting it back on though is proving troublesome, i hold the nut on the other side and spin the lever until there is tension but putting it back in place seems impossible, im not weak but hell fire i cant snap it back in. On you tube it looks easy so i assume im doing something wrong here, I should probably mention it's a new bike. Thanks again guys.

Cheers for replies, i can only apologize for my noobishness. Managed to get it in there but must be in the wrong position as the brakes act as if the brake is held down, wheel only spins freely when the brake lever on the actual brake is open :s

Loosen it with the bike weight on the wheel (i.e. not with the bike upside down.) THe wheel should settle into place. then tighten.

What Blackdays said. On the side opposite the QR lever, turn the bolt counter clockwise. Don't do it too much, or the wheel won't be secured. You want it to be tight, but not impossibly tight.

You have to center the wheel between the brake pads before you tighten it down. It usually takes a couple of tries. Be sure to put the brake calipers back into the "closed" position, assuming you opened them up to get the wheel off. Which I somehow doubt.

hold the lever half closed, so it is inline with the axle. Hold the nut and make it finger tight, this means when you close the QR from the open position you'll feel the tension start at half way. Push lever all the way to close. Don't have it facing forward or you're a Fred
