A friend is selling hers and it only has about 3,000 miles on it. She takes really good care of her bikes so I trust it's in excellent condition. I was going to purchase the groupset new through my LBS for about $600, but if I can get a deal from her, I'll buy hers. She wants me to "give her a price"...I hate that! What should I offer?

What parts are we talking about? Shifters, derailleurs, brakes, crank, and cassette? If all is included, and in good shape, I think $400-450 would be fair.

I just realized that it CAN'T be a 5700 set...the bike was a 2010, but Shimano didn't release 5700 until 4/10. I think I'm just going to order it through my LBS, I think. The $600 cost included installation and these guys have been good to me in the past.

Yeah, I think 5700 is considered the 2011 model, not 2010. Her group has to be 5600. I've been looking into the new 105 for a frame I want to build up.... given the online prices I've been seeing ($575-$640 on eBay and other sites), $600 including installation is a great deal.

$600 isn't bad for the full group:
$200 Shifters
$100 Crank
$100 Brakes
$100 Front + Rear Derailleur
$50 Cassette
$50 Chain
Plus they're installing it? If it's for the full group, and it's local that's not bad at all. Pricing would be close to PBK, but you get to support the local guy (and you get installation!)
