Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I find that paint really appealing. I mean really good looking. Am I alone in this opinion?

That is a nice looking frameset, but if it came in red, I'd definitely pick one up as soon as it is available. Thinking of building up an Allez with SRAM Force.

love it... but look at the other trims. is it just me or did specialized intentionally dumb down the allez line? the elite comes with tiagra? that's the *best* they want to put on there? Oh, oops, there's one apex model. yeesh

i guess the market for up-market allez's just wasn't there

How did you get the 2011 stuff on there? I can't find it other than with your link.

Here is the 2011 Tarmac models
https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/...enuItemId=9256

You see the URL above...when you go to the Specialized website, you change the number "10" before the model name to "11".

Price point I would assume. Perhaps they're just not going to put the effort in for that level of bike anymore? Just my guess.

I guess they want to keep it entry level affordable. If you can get them started in a Specialized, they will probably upgrade to a Tarmac.

I always thought their bikes looked good in white, I don't like them in black :/ The team saxo bikes were epic hot imo

Rival also has M2, but Red does not (on the Tarmacs). Weird.

+1 to good looking frame. I just bought the 2010 Allez in white. I was concerned about keeping it clean but have found that a good wipe down with a damp cloth after a couple rides keeps it very clean. One problem is that grease tends to stick to it and is much harder to wipe off. Any ideas for getting the grease off?

Does anyone know the pricing on the Allez frameset? (And on the Tarmac, too?)

I use The Wax Shop Super Glaze Liquid Wax. Works wonders for my car and the paint job on the Specialized. Just wipe the surface clean of grit and the grease gets removed while applying the liquid wax. Then wipe off as it clouds over and you have a nice slick surface free of grease.

I heard $550 on the Allez, don't know about the Tarmac, yet. I still need to verify that though.

Looks like it means it has a 52/36 compact crank.

If that price is true that's good value.

Being in Australia we'll get gouged and it'll likely be double that.
