I did the Miles of Smiles 100, on probably the hilliest route you can go in Central Illinois and some crazy gravel in places that made for less than ideal times. I had to ride 6 miles to the start and 6 miles home but the tour took me 5:33, I was about 5:50 total time. First time I ever road in a group of cyclist it was really fun. We manage to spread out pretty quick but I road the last 50 with a friend and we manage to bring the last 19 miles in on a smooth road in 1 hour.
My second century and much hard that my first one with some serious climbs. I think the gravel in places cost us at least 5-9 minutes I just hate it and go really slow. I think tomorrows run will be really, really slow at least this tames the desire for a Sunday ride.
