Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My new Cervélo

Well, my S2 has arrived. I've only ridden it briefly, but it's an absolute blast so far. Two

Getting fit:

Finally home:

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the saddle. LBS took off the fizik saddle it came with and gave me a women's saddle. I'll probably go swap it for the fizik women's saddle later this week.

Thanks to everyone from BF who helped me with this purchase. I'm very happy

Congrats, that's a great looking bike.

Now get a set of Psimet's or Zipp 404's and it will be complete!

The cherry on top would be if the cranks were black. Not to take away from an excellent machine though.

I do find my gaze wandering to their side of the sales floor more often these days. Lookers that perform.

Did they give you a pro fit? Or was it just a quick fit to make sure the seat height is correct and the stem is the right size?

It was quite extensive. He spent some time on my cleats as well. Took about an hour?

Ah, a new bike! It's just like falling in love. You can't wait to get home to be around your bike. Even when you're not riding it, you find yourself gazing and admiring it. You can't imagine that there would be a better bike anywhere else- it's the perfect bike for you!

Then after about a year, you find yourself riding it less and less. And when you do ride it, you arrive home, prop it against the wall, and ignore it. You find yourself looking at other people riding bikes and think, "Oooo, I wish I had a Colnago (or Litespeed or Moots or whatever)." Then, after a particularly bad day on the road, you arrive home cursing your bike. "I wish I had never bought you! I hate you!!!" And you secretly wish that your frame would just break one day so you have an excuse to buy another one. You even think about hiring someone to break it for you, just for the insurance money. After much soul searching, you decide to do the right thing and sell it, so you can buy a much better bike.

Excuse me...please disregard the previous paragraph...enjoy your bike.

Awesome bike. The S2 is an amazing machine. Cervelo got it right. I hope you enjoy it.

I hope they spent more time on your fit than the money they spent on that front wheel chock.

Great looking bike. Good luck with it. Ive ridden a RS for just over a year and think it great. I think youll think the same of yours 12 months from now which is all you can really ask of a bike.

I've been really considering a new frame for next season.

Cervelo is pretty high on the list right now. How do you like the S2 so far? I'm still on the edge about the whole aero frame business.

It's simply amazing. As much as I love my old bike, I'm just so blown away. It feels like a rocket. I absolutely love it. Glad I got the smaller frame, although bottles/bottle cages are going to be a difficult situation.
