Need Saddle Advice
I've been using a Prologo Nago Pas for the past month after replacing a Selle SLR gel flow that was sagging and bouncy. This saddle is nearly the same shape and is nice and stiff. However, I experience considerable pain and discomfort from the minute I start riding. I develop deep aches where the back of my legs meet my butt and feel an inordinate amount of sharp, painful pressure on my sit bones. My position on the bike is quite aggressive with much of my weight on my perineum. A day after a century ride I have only normal muscle soreness, with the exception of the residual pain where the the back of my legs meet the saddle.
Any suggestions?

Need more info. How long have you been riding? Other than being saggy was the SLR comfortable? When you say aggressive I assume you mean a bunch of saddle to bar drop? How much? Saddle level or tipped up? At this point I would say it might be a fit issue or it might be a saddle issue. Whether or not a saddle is comfortable is often dependent on your anatomy. I've ridden a classic Selle Italia Flite for years and wouldn't change.

Sounds like trying to hop a fence and getting “stuck” half way over, painful.
Are you riding on the nose a lot or are you far back on the saddle?
Sounds like you could benefit from trying a different saddle as well. Maybe the one your running now is too narrow, too hard and not positioned well for your anatomy.

I'm dialed in every other way on the bike and ride a 150-200 miles a week.
I probably need to try another saddle. Fizik says I'm a Snake. Should I try an Arione? Will there be that much difference?

In all seriousness, what is a “snake”? Never heard the term before?
Have you tried adjusting the angle of the saddle? If you are getting sore where the back of your legs meet your butt, it almost sounds as if you are sliding backwards on the saddle.
Any pics of your current set up of the saddle?

I tried five different saddles before I found one that worked for me. I was having numbness. If you are sore in the sit bone area then I would recommend a different saddle but for numbness my Selle SMP saddle has solved that problem. The saddle is a little hard on the sit bones but I have adjusted to it. I could never adjust to numbness though.
I had a Selle Anatomica which was the best saddle I have ever used for eliminating the feel of pressure on the sit bones, but still caused numbness.
With a good pair of shorts on, I can ride my SMP all day long without any pain.

Maybe you're having difficulties with the new saddle because, well....it's new. You did mention that your old saddle was saggy and bouncy and your body has become accustomed to that.
