Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My New Scott CR1 Pro

Hey Gang, I finally got the opportunity to build a rig from ground up. Check out my 2010 Scott CR1 Pro. It’s a 56 frame adorned with a brand spank’in group of Ultegra 6700, Compact Double, 3T ARX Pro Stem, 3T Ergonova Pro Bar, Thompson Elite post, my old and dear ‘roid ridding’ Selle SMP Pro saddle and beloved Psimet rims. Before tape and with the extra spacers, it hangs at 18 pounds. It's no weight weenie and at a svelte 212 +/- neither am I.

Coming off an 07 ~ 58cm Tarmac, I can honestly say I feel stronger on this frame. It seems that with the closer cockpit and the slightly more relaxed set up, I’m in more control of the bike. Very stiff, very plush.
Regards, Mike

I like the way the fork and headtube paint match up with that white stripe. Time to get out that carbide hacksaw blade though, don't you think?

Measure multiple X, cut once. I'm waiting for several more rides to ensure my fit. Must say I'm very pleased with the color scheme.

Nice looking ride mrb. It will look better when you lose some of that steering tube. Like you said though, make sure you have the fit you want before you cut. Now go ride it.

Very Nice bike and good riding to you. Been riding Ultegra/Dura Ace mix for over 8000 miles between two bikes, love the stuff. Just got SRAM Force 2010 to mix things up.

Good Luck

That marble bar tape makes me want to barf.

Otherwise, it's a beautiful bike.

Okay fellas, black or red? Just don't say white. That's like putting ketchup on a hot dog.

Red. That is a gorgeous bike, FWIW. Not a fan of the marble bar tape, but I think solid red will set it off nicely.
