Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Performance Ultra shorts wrong sizing

for anybody buying these shorts from Performance bike,
their sizing chart is wrong by 1 size too small.
ie their Large is really Medium, Medium is really Small
yes its a bit annoying to get the "wrong" sized item after finding them in stock.

It happens. My experience is aibt too large is doable, too small, not a good idea, unless you are in a rapid-weight-loss phase. If you get too large, and something breaks down, you're covered for returns. Too small, you over-stressed it. And it hurts anyway.

I sold the pair I originally got to a friend who is skinnier than me, he also found them a bit tight but bearable
anyway, I got another pair, size L this time and they are really borderline on general fit but can pass
however the rubber leg grippers are ridiculously tight, I ended up taking a razor blade and making a series of cuts in the rubber to allow them to stretch wider.

Its a pity that Performance has zero quality control for a US made product, at least thats what the label says.
I own a pair for 2007 which has the same material but different chamois.
I found the material to be very good quality and longer lasting than PI.

Long and the short is these shorts are about 1 1/2 sizes too small.

My Ultra II bibs in large fit fine and ride comfortably. Same size I wear in other brands. Maybe they are inconsistent, but if so, I got lucky.
