I am eyeing that Allez, shame that the sport doesn't have the red color scheme from the low-end version. I find it much more attractive.

Why did you show me this? Why? My new 2010 Allez is sitting in her cozy corner of the garage and suddenly, this new 2011 Allez rolls up and makes me look back! If there's one rule to buying a bike, it's to never look back!

I think I'm going to have a very tough decision to make next spring... Roubaix Compact, Synapse Carbon 3, Giant Defy Advanced.... Roubaix frame looks sweet, but the component group on the Synapse Carbon 3 is going to be very nice.

I am eyeing that Allez frameset. I was hoping for more color variety, though!

Nice that they've got the aluminum road frame listed for $550.00 . Several folks in our group ride that frame and seem to like it.

It's the top-of-the-line E5 too, you can get 105 for $550 or apex for ~650 so it's a pretty good deal if you have some spare parts. I don't.

So the Roubaix Elite has the SL3 frame and Ultegra and costs $3,600. The Roubaix Comp has the old frame and 105, and costs $2,600. Opinions on whether the upgrade to the Elite is worth it?
(It wouldn't take much to convince me to get the Elite, but I suspect the practical difference is small for the extra $1,000.)
