Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hey, it's Friday, it's happy hour, what are you doing?

It's Friday. It's the end of the work week (for most). It's happy hour.

We're all riding Saturday morning right? Up and chipper and ready to go!

So, what's the game plan for Friday night? Local Bar, Happy Hour at the Kitchen Counter, Late Nite, Olive, Twist, On the Rocks or Straight Up, Coal Fired, On the Grill, White Table Cloth, Pajamas in Front of the TV, Take-ee-out-ee?

How do you come off the work week and relax and get up for the ride on Saturday morning [Which we all look forward to all week]

Putting stuff in the car for drive to Clarksville, TN, for Sunrise Rotary Club century ride. 400+ registered for 100 mi loop, over 1000+ expected for all distances. Weather looks great.

Hopefully carb loading with a nice lager, rounded out with a single malt 'Scotch?' Good Luck

Off to a great start for tomorrow. I worked more weekends behind a bar that I care to remember.

Keep the wind at your back. Enjoy the Mexican. Sorry us riders in SFL couldn't take the beating for you. But I'm sure our time is coming.

Did 2.5 hours in the hills in 95 degree heat. I'm planning on spending the rest of the evening hydrating with ice-cold Pacificos. No ride for me tomorrow but will do a 60 mile ride on Sunday.

Cheers!

Why training, of course! Just finished a 35 minute after-work interval session on the wind trainer. Plan to start "lifting" (12 ounce curls) in just a minute.

(Those are fluid ounces, btw.)

Well I just finished riding. I'll be recovering for the rest of the night, putting off packing for my big move to Davis (happening some time next week), and planning my weekend rides. I'm considering a recovery spin tomorrow afternoon and climbing in Boulder on Sunday morning...

Very tame so far. Assumed at least Scotch would hoop it up a bit but...

As for me, got off early, shopped for a good grilled wing dinner, sipped some nice Dominican rum and now am uncorking a nice cab. An easy 25 tomorrow...

Just got back from a 2hr tempo ride. Rest for 15mins, then I have to go outside and clean the yard up and get the car ready to pick up the in-laws tomorrow.

Maybe I'll have a cold beer later.
