Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fezzari V. Trek

I have been riding an old steel Nishiki Rally for about a year now - competing in a few triathlons and doing fitness riding. I am looking to upgrade to carbon and am looking for recommendations. On the one hand, I love the look of the Madone 4's and 5's. My friends who know more about cycling, however, tell me that Trek as a brand is good but overpriced. One friend specifically directed me to the Fezzari Cr3, which seems like a great value. My only concern would be buying the bike sight unseen.

Any recommendations on trek v Fezzari, or any other advice on what to consider?

Thanks in advance!
-Mike

I've always been under the impression Madone 4's and maybe even 5's are more relaxed geometry, sport bikes. Have to go to 6th for their race oriented bike.

I'd be nervous about sight unseen as well, I'd find an LBS dealing in Specialized Tarmac or Felt F series. Those two are at the top of my list for next fitness/fast bike when I scrape together the funds to upgrade from my Al.

Fezzaris are excellent, especially the new 458 Italia.

Love my Fezzari CR5

I've got a Fezzari CR5 and I absolutely love it. It's the fastest, most stiff, but yet comfortable bike i have ever been on. You can't beat the price either. I like it so much I bought one of their Nebo Peak mountain bikes too. You can't go wrong with Fezzari.

Test ride a lot of bikes go from there. See what you like, don't go by someone's thoughts.

Five posts and every one of them is pushing Fezzari bikes. Are you employed by them or compensated in any way for endorsing this company's products?

Sounds like someone's trying a little too hard to be "Italian."

I only see one person pushing Fezzari and that is probably the only other poster that has heard of that brand.

Do you have a Fezzari phobia?

Why on earth would anyone have a "phobia" of a comically named bicycle? You're new here, so perhaps you're unaware that there is, in fact, a history of people related to companies posing as satisfied customers on public message boards.

I heard about these bikes on some podcast. The host said he loved the bike when he was sent one to test out.

What's the difference between a Ferrari 458 and a Fezzari 458? One sounds stupid and the other one catches fire.

OP...all top of the line bikes are excellent.
Trek makes fantastic bikes...like Specialized, Cervelo, Look and many others.
If you don't build your own bikes which you likely don't then your local bike shop support is essential. Go ride some bikes from
two or three bike shops within a reasonable driving area.
I have never heard of Fezzari bikes and I am a bit of a bike nut so take that for what its worth.
Resale and name recognition matters to many including me.
A nice higher end bike costs about $3K. Giant makes perhaps the best bikes for the dollar.
You maybe able to find a decent spec Giant TCR for $2-2.5K or so.
Happy shopping. Sticking with the name brands, there are no losers. As your taste in bikes refine
you will develop personal preference however from the saddle to pedals you prefer to even the handlebar
width and tape...not to mention gruppo and wheelset.
Cheers.

+1 It seems most folks are figuring this ruse out but some perhaps are not. 5 year old company that seems to be based somewhere overseas, with "U.S. headquarters in Utah" and their warranty is at best a little questionable. Warranty void if you ride the bike in a race ... any race.

The reference to a "Road Magazine" review of Fezzari bikes is also questionable. Road Magazine seems to be one of those small PR magazine shops that charges you for publishing an article that you write and submit yourself concerning a bike product you are trying to market. Looks like a real independent bicycling magazine review of Fezzari bicycles but likely isn't.

The grammar used on the website has the types of mistakes that smacks of a poor Taiwan/China translation.

But hey! Heck of a price for a 64 speed 200 MPH Ferrazi ... uh, Ferrari ... no, Fezzari .... I'm so confused ...
