YEAH! A Carbon Cyrano!
https://www.fizik.it/product.aspx?c=Cyrano-Carbon
Yeah muthasucka yeah!
I knew it!
I knew that Fi'zi:k would produce one!
Finally!
A Carbon Cyrano!
I was so torn. I wanted a carbon seat post for the potential ride quality improvement
over aluminum, but decided I was going to get the Cyrano because it was 100%
compatible with my carbon-railed Fizik Aliante and because it matched my BBQ CAAD9
damn near perfectly I fell in love with it and was resolved to use it regardless.
Then, I happened to glance at Fizik's site and BOOM! There it is! A plastic Cyrano!
So far, about $146. shipped.
Merry Fing Xmas to me!

I can't wait. It's like Christmas for me as a kid
(even though I'm going to be the one to give it to myself).
I actually was in contact with Fizik for a while about it and they were hush hush on it.
Don't get me wrong, I still think that the aluminum Cyrano is the most beautiful post around
and is a very close competitor to Thomson posts (only time will tell), but I wanted carbon
(if it was possible) and for it to be a Fizik product with my particular rails, it's sweet.

just held both alu & carbon versions in my hands at the local shop.
the alu beats the carbon one on finishing quality.
notice carefully towards the top of the post near to the clamp, the alu ones looks & feels seemless where as the carbon one has a clear joint to the alu clamping area.
i got the alu one with only 30g weight penalty but way better finish.

It's really going to be a hard choice, but who knows...I might just buy both and stick on on my SS!
The alu Cyrano is artwork I think it's the nicest metal post around.
But I'm going to go with the plastic one first.

Ah ... you finally quit talking about getting it, and pulled the order trigger. Whew, I was in riveting suspense!
I like my Al one. You'll have 30g on me now.

I totally agree with you that the alu is gorgeous (and probably better looking in person than the carbon).

Yeah! Actually got to sit down and get some goodies now that my schedule is slowing down.
My cockpit is near completion. Of course, pictures will follow.
I was wondering why I get giddy at something so simple and seemingly trivial.
Then I remembered, it's the thrill of the 12 year old kid that used to put together BMX bikes from scratch.
It's that same feeling that I used to get back then...to make something your own, custom tailored to you.
Then, I stopped wondering about it and just decided to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
If I can still appreciate something that small, then life is good.

Damn that set-up is nice J!
Well, Cyrano's not in "my" house YET!
Expecting it's arrival within 3-4 days.

I'm going to paint the bottom of the plate that is exposed a nice matte black.
I'm planning on using Cannondale BBQ paint. That'll finish it off nicely.
