To buy or not to buy......please give me your thoughts..
I have an opportunity to purchase a brand new 2010 s-works roubaix sl2 di2 from a LBS for around $5,000. I know its a great price, but I currently have a 2007 Roubaix pro with stock DA and ultegra components. I am 51 years old and love the comfortable ride of the roubaix. I ride around 100 miles a week. I am getting into riding and plan to ride more next year, including a biking trip in Italy with my wife. So I have a few questions:
1 Is there that much difference between my 07 Roubaix Pro and the 2010 S-works?>
2 I have read the sl3 is much stiffer and more comfortable than the sl2 version. Should I just wait a few years and buy the sl3 version on sale? Use my Pro a little while longer.
Thanks for any input.
Steve

The Di2 would be the only thing that would tempt me to make the move, but you could do that for a lot less than $5000.

buy it for me and let me test it out and then I'll tell you if you should get one for yourself.
seriously, if you love the bike you have now and it's in good shape but you really just want the Di2 I would simply upgrade to Di2 on your existing bike.

3 years of development seems like a decent amount of time for frame improvement. especially since it's the sworks frame.
The SL3 roubaix is 9400. is sl2 that much worse cause that sounds like a steal

Yes the difference is huge.
I say go for it. I got a 45% off deal on my new bike which is why I bought it.

Definitely buy it. One should always buy a new bike when given a reasonably good excuse to do so and the discount sounds like a real good excuse to me.
