2012s are definitely out. Some places have had 2012s since August or so, but the LBS closest to me is a small one so they can't really forecast how popular 2012 CAAD10s will be. When I went in earlier this week, they still had a 2008 Synapse (with Tiagra) going for $850, heh.

Why but of course. The bikes seem to look better and better every year... Like trying to keep up with technology.

Thanks! 105. Kinda wish I could've gotten Rival. I still like how the 105 feels, though. Might have to opt for a shorter stem, as I feel a little stretched out on the hoods. I'll see if I can get pics in by the end of the week (it's gonna snow here in the Midwest tonight and into tomorrow >_<). I'm really sad to be returning to school on Monday, though . Don't think the new bike will fit in the apartment closet with the beater so the bike will be at home while I'm away at school. But that's a good thing; otherwise I'd be riding and spending too much on the bike so soon after having dropped a heavy chunk on the bike itself. Definitely looking forward to summer, though!

I also very much like the balck paint/graphics. A very stealth touch and one I wish was available. Some of you may have seen this article, if so: sorry to rehash. Enjoy folks:

This Cannondale CAAD10 was built with the not-for-sale Ultimate all-aluminum package. It weighed just 6.3 kilograms.

Some of the weight savings on that frame come from the use of anodization on the frame versus paint. On aluminum tubing that thin, I wouldn't trust anodizing. It's a brittle surface, that due to its nature as an extension of the substrate material will propagate cracks to the underlying substrate when the anodized surface cracks.

I only trust anodizing to not compromise the structure if the substrate is sufficiently thick.

Additionally, the bike doesn't have pedals. That will make it difficult to use.
    Good night...and good luck

Bikes are usually weighed without pedals.

Might want to do yours. Cannondale actually requires the use of a star nut in some of their lightweight carbon forks. The ~320 gram Premium Plus fork on my 2009 caad9 has a thin aluminum sleeve inside the fork steerer to protect the *required* star nut from damaging the carbon fibers as the stem is tightened down.

Here's what you would have come up with had you done research yourself:

I know. I just wanted to say it. Bikes are weighed without a lot of things that most riders require. It's kinda like wheel weight without the skewers.

Not making accusations of dishonesty...it's just funny to me.

It's been 2 weeks now since I ordered my (in stock at Cannondale) CAAD 10 5. How much longer can this take?

    Oh, the agony.

What's the difference between the caad8 frame and the caad10 frame?

I have a buddy who is looking, and I told him I didn't know but I bet I could get a quick response here.

    Thanks.

@ laserfj, I believe the caad8 has a more relaxed geometry compared to the more nimble/aggressive caad10 which is also somewhat lighter made with a different kind of aluminum.

    my new 2012 CAAD10 5

Everything stock except I swapped the saddle for my Selle Italia. Going to get my fitting done in a few weeks after I've put some more miles on it.

My CAAD7 should be close to that weight by summer. But with pedals and cages.

Real nice. My CAAD lust goes between that one and the bare finished one.

@vanno.velo Did you get the frame separately? Or did you swap out the 105 stuff?
