I obv haven't read the whole topic...

I have an old but still good Caad 5 team Saeco and i am wondering if i could fit a 700 x 28 tire on it?.
I asked two cannondale seller this week and one of them told me it was impossible and the other one said it was the limit but it would fit...
Any help on this?

I have a CAAD 5 Team 7UP. I'm running Vittoria Rubinos 700 X 28's. No problems at all.
If I need to remove a wheel, I have to deflate the tire to 40...maybe 50 psi. That's the only hitch but it's well worth it. 28's are a great all around tire especially in bad weather and on rough roads.

thanks

I'm 5' 10" with the same inseam. The 54 cm CAAD 10 w/ a 110 stem works perfectly for me. I have room to spare as well.

I'm 6'-1" and have a 32" inseam, really short legs, I have a 56cm frame and a 100mm stem. Asking your question is not a good way to set up your fit, or chose a frame size though. Too many variables between people and their anthropomorphic measurements (today's big word,) to use others dimensions. Just keep that in mind and use our info as a ballpark to look into which frame set you need. A friendly heads up to a future new CAAD owner, hopefully.

Remember, it's a calculator, if you put in junk, it spits out junk, so measure twice.

I really like the 6800 crank. Good work.

I'd be curious to hear your impressions of the Stages PM over the Quarq. Someday when I get a PM, I'm not sure what to do. I'd have to switch cranksets to adopt a Stages PM, which makes getting a Power2Max or Quarq that much more tempting.

Erotic. Best color scheme of any Cannondale.

Can't comment on the Stages PM yet. I have yet had a chance to ride it since I finished putting it together. A fellow teammate has been using the Stages PM for over a year. He has no complaint. These are reasons why I chose Stages PM (descending order).

1. I hate BB30. Period.
2. I like 6800 crankset for its flexibility. I can change from compact to std chain rings without changing the spider/crankarm.
3. For the same flexibility reason, I can move the Stages PM to another bike very easy.
4. Stages PM + 6800 crankset is lighter than any crank based PM.
5. Having a full Shimano drivetrain is aesthetically pleasing.

Any reason for the crank swap?

I highly doubt it's anodized, because if that was the case the stealth black frameset would cost more than the green frameset. They're the same price. :p

It also wouldn't make sense that the $2.3k CAAD10 3 Ultegra with stealth black would be anodized, with no other frames being anodized until you reach the $4k Black Inc CAAD10. :)

I guest this is boring right? some of the the baddest and fastest machines in the world sports this color. I wonder if i would look boring going down the road in one of these? and one more thing black is timeless.http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=367339

the CAAD10 3 STEALTH is anodized black. confirmed by cannondale rep.

Nice bike you got there:thumb:

Seems like a lot of folks run into BB30 "creaking" issues which leads me to believe I will also run into these problems. Being I haven't put many miles on my Caad10 yet I just don't kknow what to expect. From what I've been reading it seems careless installation seems to bethe
culprit.
Anyone here NOT run into bb30 issues? Is it innevitable or just some poor unlucky saps that get stuck with a faulty bottom bracket?

Stealth bombers, the dark knight, ninjas! What can be cooler than ninjas?...a black on black Caad 10 that's what.

01silver4 03-05-14 08:25 PM

I never had any problem with my bb30, i think bad installation, people getting water in there when they wash the bike with high pressure, ETC contribute to bb failure.

prankster 03-05-14 10:11 PM

You don't need high pressure wash for water to sip through those bearings and their "cover". They are not sealed. Also, dirt comes in between the face of the bearings and the covers make that creaking noise. I've never washed my bike with high pressure wash except my cx bike. Riding in the rain and on dirty wet road could cause this.

No issues whatsoever with BB30 for me - 1 x CAAD10 with 9000km thus far (now using DA7900 crankset and Wheels Mfg adapter as FSA SL-K Light crankset broke) and the second with 1800Km (native BB30 with FSA Gossamer crankset) thus far. Installation and routine maintenance are the key - as with all components.

cheers

Well, I'm pretty sure it's atypical paint, it's definitely something funky.

That's pretty sweet! Color me corrected. Maybe I'll add just one more black bike to the stable....:p

01silver4 03-06-14 12:41 PM

Well i got caught in the rain on both my bike before. and never had a problem with the bb. but my CAAD10 and superSIx are equip with hollow gram cranks. And most importantly i clean my bikes after every ride so that goes a long way i guest.
