You're right, my bike will just taint the page :(

But I had a pretty gnarly blowout yesterday. not sure what I hit but it created a hole bigger than a whole dime in the tire and a bigger one in the tube. I am surprised I didn't fall. Looks like new tires are coming earlier than i thought :D

I'll post a picture when I get my bike back. Took it in to get its 1 free tune up haha.

Hey, I really like your bike! Maybe because I have the same on and same size? I just got done swapping out my Durano S tires for some Hutchinson Fusion 3's. Going on my first ride in a few minutes. I'm only trying tubeless because the bike came with tubeless wheels, and I flat spotted one last ride avoiding an accident. Anyway, welcome to the club and enjoy the CAAD!

Since we are on the topic of 2013 CAAD 10 in Size 60, here is mine (Please pardon the low quality iPhone picture):

Nice, how do you like those EC70's? I was eyeing a set at Performance last week during their 20% off sale.

Thank you. Coming from a 2013 CAAD 8 Sora that had MADDUX RS 3.0 wheels, the Easton EC70 SL are a huge improvement. With the Maddux RS wheels a lot of energy was spent just keeping the wheels spinning, no matter the speed. The Easton wheels, on the other hand, once you get them up to speed, your energy is not burnt as much trying to keep the wheels spinning but they in a way temp you to go faster. I did not like the low spoke count on the Ultegra Wheels that came with the bike so I never rode them and therefore have no point of comparison with them. The only foreseeable issue with the Easton EC70 SL wheels is the hub, they are last years model, Easton R4 hubs. As per Easton's FAQ page, these hubs may require an adjustment every 800-1000 miles using a cone wrench. The 2014 model is the improved, Easton V5 hubs and do not have this feature. These wheels are my everyday wheels and they fit my needs precisely. Hope the information helps.

I recently added a thompson seatpost and dropped the bars a bit, Since I just got the bike I want to try and just enjoy it as is & wait before I spend more money on it. I planning to only change things right now to adjust my fit. However If I do sell off my old bike then I'll have funds for more goodies. I have noticed with this hobby it is pretty easy to deplete ones wallet. I kind of got the itch to try and hit that 15lb marker milestone bike weight with my size 60. I think the weightweenies forum is rubbing off on me,lol

The bike does ride good as is but there's always room for improvement. Problem with me is the C1 Components that came on the Black Inc are not too heavy compared to a lot of aftermarket components without spending a fortune on the hi-mod stuff and I weigh 225+/- so I fall just over the limit of most lightweight parts out there including your seat post. That doesn't mean that I'm not going to try, I'm just shooting for 16lbs. Keep me updated on any progress please. Also, I just swapped out the Durano S's for some tubeless Hutchinson Fusion 3's and what a difference in ride quality, I would recommend giving tubeless a try before you upgrade the wheels just to see how it feels. I like it so much I'm looking at some 30mm American Classic Argent's that weigh 1340g and stepping up to the Hutchinson Atom Galactic tires that only weigh 240g.

My 2013 Black Inc. has had the bb removed and lubed twice for creaking, third time it was removed, cleaned, lubed, and re-installed with "green" loctite applied to the outer surface of the bearing where it contacts the frame. Three rides in and no noise so far. There are several threads about this issue with several manufacturers and most seem to fix it without replacing anything. Be sure that whoever does this for you uses the GREEN loctite, anything stronger and you could end up damaging the frame upon the next service!

THIS WORKED!!!!

So I brought my bike into the shop I bought it from and they took out the BB, cleaned, packed it and re-installed it with the green locktite and now...the BB30 creak of death is dead!!! I couldn't be happier, back to quiet rides where the only things I hear are the birds, wind, and my heart trying to leap out of my chest! Thank you for your advice and I hope yours is still sound free.

So if the loctite fixed it, does that mean the creak comes from the BB not being seated securely and having some play in the bracket?

new stem day.

It would appear so. The shop said they have this problem regularly with Cannondales and Treks. The plastic is just thin and tends to work itself loose and then the water and moisture can get in easily and wash the grease out. It's just a never ending cycle of re-lube and install. This will keep that from happening. When i described the problem they knew exactly what it was. When I suggested the locktite, they said this is what they do whenever they encounter this problem. That being said I'll still update you all around 500 miles

SirHustlerEsq 04-18-14 07:31 PM

Does anyone else get trolled for riding an aluminum frame, or is it just a Dallas thing?

Wow, So I thought all the new CAAD10s had C1 stuff.....so it is only the Blk Inc & Racing Edition upon closer inspection.....Interesting. I suppose then that those components are actually worth something on the used market........hmm......That also explains why the bike feels so damn light in my hands. I didn't realize there was a difference & thought my C1 stuff is all garbage stuff that was weighing me down. Atleast now I know I need look carefully when I do my research because I have already based some of my research on weight off random post I find online.

Team Sarcasm 04-18-14 08:10 PM

how big is the difference between c3 and c1 stuff?
