That doesn't mean that I'm not going to try, I'm just shooting for 16lbs. Keep me updated on any progress please. Also, I just swapped out the Durano S's for some tubeless Hutchinson Fusion 3's and what a difference in ride quality, I would recommend giving tubeless a try before you upgrade the wheels just to see how it feels. I like it so much I'm looking at some 30mm American Classic Argent's that weigh 1340g and stepping up to the Hutchinson Atom Galactic tires that only weigh 240g.
Wow, So I thought all the new CAAD10s had C1 stuff.....so it is only the Blk Inc & Racing Edition upon closer inspection.....Interesting. I suppose then that those components are actually worth something on the used market........hmm......That also explains why the bike feels so damn light in my hands. I didn't realize there was a difference & thought my C1 stuff is all garbage stuff that was weighing me down. Atleast now I know I need look carefully when I do my research because I have already based some of my research on weight off random post I find online.

    Well not much.....I spent way too much time on the WW forums & I think it is fun & it is a talking point but obviously the savings have minimal impact. That being said, what I was able to find googling around....based on what seemed like avg/standard size bikes is the following;

    C3 stem = 148g c1 stem 128g
    c3 seatpost = 248 c1 seatpost 212g
    c3 bars = 325g = c1 bar = 244

    Total savings = 148g (almost 1/3rd a LB)

Granted this is not alot of weight but if one was looking to drop weight from something other then wheels I would probably remove that C3 bar first and replace it with something like Zipp SL Carbon Handlebar(170g) which alone is the same weight savings to all the C1 stuff above.

I've had a few "nice bike but you didn't go carbon" conversations, but there's a pretty big CAAD10 following here in Central Florida. I cant go on a ride without seeing at least one or two out there.

This will keep that from happening. When i described the problem they knew exactly what it was. When I suggested the locktite, they said this is what they do whenever they encounter this problem. That being said I'll still update you all around 500 miles
Glad to hear the noise is gone, I've been on several rides since the loctite was applied and so far so good. I was explained the same scenario about water washing out the assembly lube and it makes sense. Yes, there is the possibility of the bb shell being out of spec but I'd say unless some hack has been servicing it that it's unlikely and even if it was found to be out of spec, that's where the Cannondale warranty kicks in.

Well for budget ww....used parts are 10-40$each, which means if you play your cards right, could break even (or close to it) with selling the old stuff

But after looking at some parts, I think I am going to go with 3T Rontundo pro bars, ARX II Stealth stem, and their IONIC 25setback seat post. Seems like the cost/weight ratio is spot on with those parts. and being alloy I don't mind buying them used

    Thanks!

My, oh my. That's a beaut. If it had a white saddle and bartape, it'd look like it's about to murder the spring classics.

    I've run 25mm GP4000s on my EVO - 25 is fine, 28 might be a problem.

I discovered that it's tough to find matching pink colors, and that it doesn't get along with other accent colors. The ZX in the tire logo for example. Did you happen to notice the pink cable ferrules? A friend suggested it - I thought it was a nice touch.

I'm running 28mm tires on my CAAD 10 with no problem. These ones - LIT - Ultra-reflective Bike Tire | Crowd Supply

You have to be careful with the conti tires though, I believe the 25mm tires actually measure close to 28mm than 25mm. I think the 28's would be too big, at least based on what I've read.

I'm thinking about a used CAAD frame to build up. Do any of your experts know what year/model this is:

    caad.jpg

Are their certain generations of CAAD to avoid? Should I be overly concerned with getting an older used frame that it might fail?

I'm hoping to upgrade my frame set for around $500 so newer CAAD 10 probably not going to be in my budget. Not racing. I ride a few times a week usually 20-30 minute spirited rides with some decent climbing. I'm looking at all options now. I'm generally a fan of older steel frames but the CAAD bikes are the one alum bike that I truly love aesthetically

Cool. But is there any argument for any older CAAD frames or is the CAAD10 the be all end all best CAAD ever made?
