But more importantly, when can i put money down on a 2015 force frame set?

I may do it while the shop is having their year end sales. Maybe they will throw a ridiculous deal my way to move a current bike and not order something new Would have to be the deal of the century to change my mind though.

Just sale your 10-5 all together, use the pic you posted of your GF with the bike, it'll bring in the buyers

That crossed my mind, I dont want Force though. The shop likes me but I doubt they would special order that frame color with 105 and the budget would go out the window with ordering the frame and piecing together the parts.

I think it's cheapest to strip and build up the new frame w/my original parts.

Today I upgraded my tires from the standard Schwalbe Lugano that my Caad 10 (2012 model) came with to Schwalbe Durano S (sometimes called Durano S Performance).

I've read somewhere that the standard tires are the only thing sub-par on the Caad 10, or something like that. I wouldn't know. Mine worked for 2 years, but recently I've had a lot of punctures.

The new tires are beautiful, fast (or at least I think so) and slightly different in a way I have to get used to. It's funny how you notice the new tires not only when breaking or dancing, but also when biking handless. Your balance sense has to get used to a new set of limits and resistance. Not better or worse, just different.

But as I said: Beautiful. Cause they have white stripes that perfectly match my Caad 10's white body. So silly to have white color on the tires. I mean, for how long is it gonna remain white. But that's why I love it. Very happy.

    Full report on my blog.

I'm glad that CDale started putting on some better cranksets on the 2015 models. The Cannondale Si crankset isn't even as good as the SL model's, but its leaps better than the FSA. Not saying FSA Gossamer wont work, but there are plenty of better options out there that perform better and look better.

Hey, who let this SS rider back in here

Just kidding, good to see you on the forum Nick. I agree, they didn't put a top of the line crank but better than the usual FSA stuff.

I think they could go away from the Tektro brakes as well.

They should toss the fsa chainring too. It just doesn't match in my opinion. Spiderings looks so much better.

    My 2011 CAAD10-3 with 6700 Ultegra - no issues

    My 2011 CAAD10-3 (now 6800-spec) and 2012 CAAD10 Team (6800) no issues either.

Perhaps you have old / frayed cables on yours, or, one other possibility - the rear cable outer near rear derailleur is cut too short and has too tight a radius causing greater friction. I believe that SRAM bikes have longer cables in this area to minimise rear-shift issues also.

    cheers

It's not only with Ultegra. The so called shifting "problems" started to crop up when Shimano decided to go with the cables under the tape (105 5700, Ultegra 6700, DA 7900), introducing more bends in the housing and therefore more cable drag. Shimano's solution was a better cable system - lined housings and teflon coated cables. This made good/proper cable routing very important to get good shifting.

Also, I've noticed Shimano is more sensitive to cable routing than SRAM, especially at the RD loop. When I take my bike off the trainer the loop sometimes gets left under the QR nut and messes with the rear shifting.

+1 Use the PTFE coated cables and SP41 housings and it should shift fine if your mechanic is halfway competent. Don't make the cable run unnecessarily long at the bars / downtube and make sure the rear RD loop is long enough. The new polymer coated 6800/9000 cables are even better but I had a poor experience with durability and went back to the PTFE cables.
