Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

...there is a pair of new 700x23c Gatorskin tires with a quantity of 389 as of 7:16 pm eastern time (12/13/11) being sold on eBay for $75.94 shipped...I've been watching the sale for quite some time now and there have been many sold...I'd like to make a purchase and try them out...if I see a really good deal on the GP4Ks, then I don't mind buying them also...I always have a use for some tires...

Yeah, close enough, although people will point out that Rival (as a groupset) is already close to Ultegra in weight. Plenty of options that'll work with the other Shimano parts, though, so your Ultegra stuff won't be hung out to dry.

I haven't had a BB30 frameset yet, so I go with Shimano for cranks. No problems at all so far.

Here is my 2010 CAAD 9.
- 105 gruppo
- SRAM Force crank
- KMC chain
- Mavic Aksium wheels
- Thomson seatpost and clamp
- PRO vibe 7 compact bars (carbon)
- stock C4 stem
- Pro 3 tires
- Specialized Avatar saddle (getting a Romin for x-mas)
- Fizik dual tape (wrapped so the gray does not appear, just gray stitching)

upgrading wheels and tires in spring to GP4KS and maybe the Katmandu wheels from Zen or something like that. thinking silver hubs, spokes and rims (maybe black).

I did some looking and Rival is almost 200 grams lighter than Ultegra 6700.

When I picked my bike up about a week ago at my LBS the guy said check this out and he showed me a bike like yours still in the box they hadn`t assembled yet. It looked sweet, the orange is really bright in person. Kinda like Richard Petty`s STP nascar car. Great color scheme, that was my second choice.

The blue's lighter, and the orange is orange-er than Petty's; I also go with what JoeyC68 calls it, Gulf Oil blue:

(my favorite racing car of all time, BTW )

He was down there in the shop. Pulling on that frame like Crackhead on CAAD. Some one needs an intervention!

I went for a 3 and 1/2 hour ride on my CAAD 10 today because it was my day off...I went to downtown Chapel Hill, NC...on my way there, a medium sized dog started barking at me and chased me for about 20 feet...there was a van coming down the opposite side of the road and almost ran the dog over (I didn't mind if that would have happened,...I have no sympathy for dogs who are trying to bite me)..the van had to completely stop because the dog wouldn't get out of the way...speaking of animals getting ran over, I saw a lot of dead squirrels flattened by cars and trucks, poor harmless creatures. I had to go by the same road where the bad dog lived on my way home...my only defense is to pedal as fast as I could, or give the dog a kick if all else fails...this time around, the dog was inside its fenced yard...what a relief

...next time, I'll bring a camera to take some pictures of where the dog lives, just for $#!+s and giggles...I don't know how close I can get to the dog itself though,...the zoom feature on my camera might not be good enough...we'll see..

Obsessed, and I don't even own one. : \
