Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If they sold Cannondale, I would've gotten my CAAD from them.

Getting homesick now.

As promised the completed build. I didn't take the time for all the bike pron details, but you get the idea. Maybe not super hot, more like the girl next door. You know you'd ride it ;-)

you know one's a 54 and the other a 56, right? both seem to be pretty good deals, buy the one that fits you. keep in mind you may not get warranty service?..

That's more a SRAM vs Shimano argument.
The SRAM for $1200., The Ultegra for $1,500.
Or, a brand new leftover 105 for around $1200. with a lifetime warranty.
Both are great bikes, but very overpriced in my opinion.
But, it's NY/NJ...they are expecting you to negotiate.

If you were going to spend that much however, I'd buy brand new.
You're really not saving much in the grander scheme of things,
and you're missing out on all the benefits of being an original owner.

AZ! Beautiful!

But that Crankset! It's gotta go!
Throw an Ultegra SL set at least
(cheap, gorgeous, lighter).

Other than that, she's beautiful!

$180./shipped

And these...

I might get a 2012 CAAD10-5 soon and want to know which color (black vs white/green/blue) looks better in your own opinion and why would you choose it?

2ndGen, which brakes are those? I'm looking to upgrade my Tektro brakes for something lighter and with better performance. I think the brakes you pictured above are in the $300- range, are they not?

Or even cheaper for the exact same product branded as Mr Control (I have them on my CAAD9)

Actually the linked brakes are forged, not CNC. Probably stronger than CNC but a few grams heavier.

I love black, but those team colors are growing on me.
Tough choice for me. I'd go with the white one.

Planet-X CNC Ultralights
I saved 170g when I upgraded from my Tektro R310 brakes.
I paid $175. for them shipped w/SwissStop brake pads.
But, I've seen them sell for less. Excellent brakes.
I'll probably go for forged myself next time.
They come in several colors too.

Thanks for the info on the brakes. The Planet X CNC's look nice, but where do I find the forged and why are they better?

Try Planet-X USA first. You might get a better deal with lower cost of delivery. They sell booth CNC & Forged.
Planet-X U.K. might have more options and are selling them with SwissStop brake pads (well worth the effort).
Both are on sale now.

I've never ridden the forged set, but I understand that forged aluminum is stronger than CNC'd.

CNC USA
CNC UK
Forged UK

FWIW, I just received a set of CNC's from Planet-X USA and they also came with the SwissStop pads... Quite a nice brakeset.
