Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well, I guess I drank the punch. Pulled the trigger on a brand new 2012 raw finish CAAD10 4 today, should be here early this week.

eBay listing picture:

I have a Thomson Masterpiece with seat post clamp, and a Deda Elementi Newton bar that ill probably throw on there from my Trek T1, and obviously adjust the fit as soon as I get it. Pictures will of course follow.

PS; I was feeling pretty good about the $1,400 price I got on it, but looking at others purchases makes me feel like I maybe overpaid? Any thoughts?

Great deal. Love that raw look. Just ordered the 2013 and not as happy with the paint but excited to get the bike and start to ride.

Awesome! Thanks for noticing. We're very busy. People are responding to the more personalized service we offer. The CAAD10 is already our most popular bike!

$1400 is a pretty damn awesome price.

I haggled to get mine for $1200, and it wasn't brand new.

I paid about $1,000 for my CAAD10-1 anodized frameset, and I considered that fair. I'd say $1,400 was a good deal.

I wouldn't worry about it. I love my CAAD 10-4, and while I might have liked the Supersix too, I certainly got a lot of bike for my money and have no regrets after almost two years on it.

Dam I wish I lived by this store. 2012 105 SS is $1800 around here. But I ended up getting a good deal (I think) on the 2013 105 since I prefer those colors. Going to pay $1100 after trading in my 2012 CAAD8-6. And they're swapping out the frame to the flat black with red, and standard crank (what is climb?) all for free so I'm happy. Putting a deposit on it this weekend. I originally wanted the rival, but after testing it out I immediately hated sram. Although I did like the fact you can bring the lever back for shifting in the drops during sprints and such.

My thoughts are that you can never overpay in cycling as long as you are getting something that you want and will use. I have found that no matter how little I thought I paid for something there is always someone who paid less and got more.

I paid full retail on my '12 CAAD10-5 when I bought it a while ago and would still consider it a value and would pay that again. FYI that was $1699.

So much potential there! actually, so much there already. A little leveling, remove the plastic disk, a proper fit and cut of the excess steerer tube, pedals... After that you'll just end up checking out the WW section.
On that note try to weigh your bike when you get it and after you fix it up.

Thanks guys, I feel good about my purchase again. I actually ended up finding one at a LBS today for $1800, so I guess I made out pretty well.

I agree, I know once I get the bike fit it will look so much better, and I won't have to update too much too quickly at least.

Quick question that I've seen mixed answers on through searching: Does anyone know what size seat post clamp I'll need for this frame? The clamp I already have is a Thomson 31.8, but I read somewhere that Thomson doesn't make a clamp that fits on the CAAD10 frame.
