Took it back to the shop today and had the mechanic and sales guy ride it. They both said that it performs as it should and didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. I was able to point it out to them a couple times while on the trainer but they didn't think BB. They said it would make more of a creak than the crack/pop sound.
Advice was to keep riding it until it is "broken in." I'll see what happens - If it continues to get worse I guess I'll take it to a different LBS to have it looked at.

Hello all.
I've noticed my bike has started making the sound of chain rub, despite there being no chain rub. To illustrate my point, I shot a quick video of me in a range of gears while in the big ring. I know it's not the best, I just wanted to try and capture the sound.
Is this a BB problem?

I appreciate it if you took the time to listen for a bit and respond! I just want my bike to last. It was an investment.

Do you still have the dork disk? Is your wheel out of true rubbing something? Does that noise continue if you coast?

It's something to do with your rear wheel - the give away is that the frequency of the knocking sound increases as you move up the cassette - i.e. it tracks speed - and it doesn't seem to track cadence which it should do if it was a BB issue.

The dork disk is not on now.

Does it make this noise on the road or just on the trainer?
Do you have a spoke magnet that's twisted out of plane and is hitting something? A valve nut that's still on that might be loose?
deep sky's comment is also a good one - if your RD needs some adjustment with the barrel adjuster to get better alignment with the cogs?
Lots of options

I do not have a spoke magnet.
May you please explain the loose valve nut? Both valves are currently closed.
The RD definitely needs some adjustment. I've watched several videos, but I'll save it for the shop tune-up. The shifting down is not snappy, in fact it even lags several seconds. In some instances I have to shift up and then back down.

There was a guy in the store who had an older CAAD8 - all black and he commented on how nice mine looked which made me feel good. I don't usually like red but theres just enough on here that I like it..

Saw a '12 CAAD 10 frame, in the Gulf Oil Racing colourway, on eBay last week. If the LBS Cannondale can't find one, they can be hard to find with their sales numbers, eBay or CL may be the place to find one. Watch out for stolen bikes that have been stripped and flipped.

2002 CAAD5 from 7UP/Team Nutra-Fig.
All Dura-Ace 7700 with Boyd 38 carbon clinchers.
Still a good ride, especially with the recent addition of the Boyd's.
New CAAD10 build in progress. Pics coming later.

Anyone with a later model CAAD have any issues with their BB30? I picked up a 2012 CAAD10 5 with FSA Gossamer at the end of the season and I took it out today for only the 2nd time since I got it and am getting some clicking when out of the saddle and only when pushing down on the left pedal. It's at almost any intensity, is a distinct click (not creak) and the pattern is somewhat inconsistent. It's tough to pin down since I can only create the sound when on the bike. So basically it's an assumption based on some of the issues I've heard from others.
A quick little tuck of that cable and the click was gone. Took me longer than I'd like to admit to find it though...
