Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

quick pic from today's ride

ok, this pic isn't from today, but it is from a loop i ride regularly, including today. i decided to take a camera along with me last week for some snapshots. i see this view routinely, though it's not always this spectacular.

What are you complaining about, those roads look gorgeous! Is it cement!?!?

Try living somewhere where you get days where the temperature fluctuates 30degrees celcius, you can see the roads move!

Wow, that Teton picture is just... wow.

Not a recent picture but a ride I do from home - did it on Sunday. No snow right now.

OMG! There's strange white stuff all over the place! That's the cleanest mud I've ever seen!

Seriously, most of these pictures are great and make me jealous.

Mr. Beanz.....Nice! I wish the caption for your last photo was "So we gave up and decided to take the truck instead." LOL.

Thanks! But no giving up, the pic was taken after the ride, climb was complete, reason for the big smile on her face!

This is in Hertfordshire, just on the edge of London to the northwest. It is only just outside the suburban roads.

It's all residential housing on the left side. On the right side (not shown in the picture) there is a "park", if you will. It's primarily just open fields along the lake. People hang out, throw objects at one another, and walk dogs. There's a couple softball fields and a boat landing up the road.

In the photo above you can see there's a gravel pathway between the lanes of traffic. People walk/jog there and there's frequently nice eye candy.
