I only listen to music when cycling on the trainer. I find late 90s/early 00s alternative rock does the trick. It's a little more repetitive and tempo based to set a good cadence to.
Examples:
Bush - Everything Zen
Chevelle - Vitamin R
Tool - Schism
Breaking Benjamin - So Cold
Etc.
Off-the-bike I like Epic/Power Metal (Maiden/Stratovarius/Priest/Older Metallica etc.) or Classic Rock (Led/Clapton/Eagles/Lynyrd etc.)

Good pump up song. I'm calling BS on the speeds posted in the video though. 70 mph wheelies on a downhill bike with huge nobby tires and a bunch of flappy clothes? No way.
Wolfmother - why is that not on my ipod?
I rode to Michael Franti "Yell Fire" the other day. Made for a good FTP set.

The music I like are made by drug addicts in the 1950's that are now dead or some equally dead Europeans before electricity was invented aka Jazz and Classical. I also like anything Jamaican or very sultry merengue.
However the song by Sarah Bareilles "Many The Miles" is apt for centuries. She is actually my favorite singer.

I only rotate 20 songs and several are in multiple times. My favorite go fast songs are:
and...
Hollywood Undead No. 5. Usually don't like this stuff but it happens to be at the right bpm.

Shadows Fall - The Art of Balance (any track) or Retribution; All That Remains - Overcome; anything from The Sword; Dragonforce's "Through the Fire & Flames" or "Valley of the Damned" for long, hard, solo efforts.
Common or Black Star while touring--pretty mellow, even rhythm, words keep me distracted.
On spin bikes (when weather outside work is sorry & I don't want to leave yet) - whatever I can find. Sometimes the radio, sometimes my Slacker station (so Dream Theater's "As I Am", "Honor Thy Father", "Dark Eternal Night", etc... or 70s & mid-80s thrash--Helloween, Iron Maiden, Megadeth-- or newer cool stuff --Priestess, Wolfmother, Jet).
And for just around the house before rides...wide range from AC/DC & Zep or George Thoroughgood to Metallica or God Forbid to Sinatra. Depends on the ride and the weather outside!

I don't listen to music when I'm on the bike, but when I'm in the gym I do. I'll usually put on a podcast from Dogglounge Deep House Radio for the bulk of the workout.
Motograter - Suffocate is one of my favorites for getting going.
Rise Against
Strung Out
Dropkick Murphys
Most of Tool's stuff
White Zombie
Atreyu
Killswitch Engage

I only listen when on the trainer or running, but 3 favorites are:
Slow Ride-Foghat for out of the saddle. Yeah, punny name, but the song is like 8 minutes and has build in the instrumental that work well for a climbing cadence.
Heroes-Bowie great song for high speed cruising.
Search and Destroy-Stooges good for high intensity, sprinty stuff.
And yeah, I'm not a spring chicken.

For me "La Dance du Bonheur " by John McLaughlin ( Shakti). This song will get you spinning like there is no tomorrow.
