2009 Cannondale Six 6 or 2010 Caad8 6 or 2011 Trek 1.2 or 2010 Scott s30
I am looking at these bikes because they are all new and in my price range The Six 6 is $899, The Caad8 is $839, the Trek 1.2 $829 and The Scott s30 is $840. The Caad8 is from REI and not an LBS.
I plan to use it for daily commuting 10 miles round trip 6 days a week plus a longer joyrides on my one day off. I've tried the Trek 1.2 and it is comfortable to me I haven't been able to try the others as the locations of the shops are like 25 plus miles from me (I don't own a car I use public transport or my bike)
I currently ride a Giant Rapid 3 and I would prefer drop bars as my to work is in constant headwinds plus hills. Coming home is fun and fast I must admit.
Any thoughts or opinions on which bike would be a good choice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I would not recommend a Trek 1.2. My friend has one and he is always having problems with it. I have a CAAD9 and it is very fast and very smooth and it is the same price as the Six 6. Also don't get bikes from REI they do not really have good customer service.

anecdotal evidence FTW?
I would go for the Scott, as it has 105 components. I think it is a great price.
That said, I also think the Six6 is good for that price, if you prefer the carbon frame over better components.
