Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Where did you find your coach? I agree that spending money on bike bling doesn't pay off like spending money to improve performance. Robert Kahler is near me and twice a year he does what he calls a torture clinic. I will probably try it in January, but I thought I might look around and see who else is near me.

those glasses look like fake oakleys from a gas station and would be lost within a week, so NO on the glasses

+1 for paying down debt, but i'd have to get at least one cycling component as the money passes through my hands

I'd buy an Ultegra 6700 group and nice wheels for my wife and a good spare set of wheels for my bike, unless I had debt to pay off.

Congrats on the progress. . Just wondering why one would choose such a course, unless their ultimate goal is to get high up into professional cycling.. ? A month at some training camp geared to any given cyclists given level and aspirations would be a great Birthday present.
. Can't say I can keep straight the cycling interest of all our members here at bike forums..
This would be my dream bike. A Lite speed Blue Ridge. With accessories, it probably would chew up the better part of 4 k.

I'd get my wife an Ariel elite and some road frame for her as well, build it up with rival, get myself a crit frame, get a full red kit for my tarmac and put the force parts on the kit bike. then i'd pay off some loans. (the bike dollar goes further when you work in the industry).

I'd get a nice, though not top of the line, AL bike with all the trimmings, a used Fender Blues Jr amp, and a used Martin hd-28v Acoustic guitar
