Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Do I need a new seatpost to install a Fizik Aliante on a Spec. Secteur??

Seemingly I bought the saddle without thinking it through... when it arrived today I promptly removed my stock RIVAL and tried to install the Fizik, but didn't seem that the new saddle likes my seatpost.
The seatpost that comes with the Secteur is the 2 bolt version one facing up and the other one facing down. The Riva 143 is open in the center, so you can out the wrench trough it and tight the screw, but not with the Fizik.
I tried to use pliers to tighten the one where the head is underneath the seat and an allen wrench on the other, but having to use pliers seems a little awkward. Is this how I'm supposed to be doing it or I need a new seatpost with a different mechanism?

Never seen a 2 bolt seatpost with the one head pointing up into the saddle and other pointing away. Seems like an installation goof up. Maybe you can just take the bolt that's facing up into the saddle, remove it completely, and thread it back in from underneath.

The Thompson seatpost on my mtb has two bolts, one on the front and one on the rear, they both are facing upward. I can't imagine your rear bolt is holding your saddle, as (if I'm not mistaken) the threads are on the top part of the seat post.

Not an installation goof, I think it was designed to be like this by specialized. the screw on the front goes to the middle of the seatpost looks like, so I can't turn it up. I will post a picture, really sucks
I wasn't expecting to have to buy a new seatpost to be able to put a new saddle

You don't need a new seatpost. if it's what I'm thinking of, the head of the unreachable bolt has small holes that you can stick a 2 or 3mm allen wrench through in order to slowly adjust. The real tightening happens on the other bolt.

I thought the front bolt has knurls you can turn by hand, and is only meant to adjust the tilt before you tighten the back one to hold the saddle tight.

the front one is just for adjusting the nose position as urbanknight said. the rear one does the clamping.

the front one, indeed have knurls, that's why I used pliers on it. So it don't need to be wrench tighten? I should be able to hand set the tilt and the tighten the back one with an allen wrench and be good to go?

You tighten the front bolt to a set point to achieve proper tilt, then tighten the back bolt with a wrench to achieve full clamping. you may have to loosen the back bolt and re-adjust the front bolt a couple times, but this is a fairly normal setup.

To adjust saddle pitch (tilt) is actually very easy with this setup-the rear bolt tightens BOTH bolts. To adjust, loosen the rear bolt, turn the knurled front bolt by hand op or down as needed, then re-tighten the rear bolt. Fast, and infinitely adjustable. In fact, the only thing I dislike about the one that came on my Secteur Comp Compact was the layer of carbon fiber on the outside-I HATE fake carbon stuff. I'm tempted not to replace it, but to scrape it off and spray paint it flat black, preferably badly enough so that anyone seeing it knows I'm not trying to pretend it's carbon...

You should never use pliers on a knurl. That's what a knurl signifies - it's like a symbol that means "NO TOOLS".

Of course, sometimes necessity necessitates.
