Are there any good climbs on Oahu? I know all about the climbs on the big island and maui, but I haven't been able to find good information on Oahu. I hear that Mt. Kaala is the highest point on the island. Is the road up to the summit rideable on a road bike? Any other good climbs?
EDIT:
So it appears that Mt. Kaala Road is paved, but it's a "government" road. Can I sneak on it? Apparently it's a 7.65 mile climb gaining 4000'!

Ben, my mother in law lives in Kailua so I get out there often. The road from Kailua to Waimea Bay is a fantastic ride and I do it every time I visit. I've also done the road from Kailua to Waikiki but traffic and lack of shoulder makes it a bit sketchy. If sprocketman doesn't respond, send him a pm. he lives in Oahu and would be very helpful.
