Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Bike cannot wait to come

I picked up this bike suppose to be floor model on e bay. Hopefully it will be here early next week. Suppose to be new looks fine but will see. It is a 2010 59 cm and has a standard double crank, an FSA SK-K light carbon, it wish it were a Shimano but will have to manage. The wheelset according to reviews may not be that durable but otherwise I cannot complain nothing like it around here for anywhere near the price. I was surprised nobody really was interested certainly the season is over around many places and some really dislike the name, but for $1388 including shipping I figure it was still ok. Will update when I get the bike.

If that's the wheelset I think it is, then it rides great and is stupid light. I put a bunch of miles on that wheelset, but crashed in a race and neither rim survived.

The bike came Pics

The bike came yesterday and I was ready. Got the kool stop brake pads in taking out those oem cane creek pads they are bad. I work on 3 spokes just a touch to get the front wheel right on but it would have been ok left alone. This is 59 and my present bike is a 61 so it felt smaller on the 21 mile test ride. It went great on a really cold blowing windy day but was smooth. I think I am going to like the standard double. Going back with the wind I could have really nailed some speed but want to just test and get use the the ride. I did 30 with plenty of room to go.

I installed the serfas wireless and the roll test is 82.25 inches the computer worked fine but I like my trek incite I think better on the other bike. It was accurate when I entered the 2086 for the wheel. The garmin had me a 21.22 miles and this serfas at 21.25 so I think it is good to go. I went ahead and set the bike on the scales with pedals and set up was 16.75 lds. I am not a weight weeny cool to know the weight.

The ride was great a little loud on the freewheel for clicking but just the nature of the beast. Fr derailluer shift was smooth that I noticed right away. I rode the test ride with the stem flipped down but the drop was too much. I could get down but I felt like I actually did not have as much control. It was a good 4 inch drop over the saddle. I changed it back and now a better 2 1/2 inch drop. Seat even was good. Time will see how it does but I sure like it.
