Internal cable routing is a marketing/TT thing, not a roadie thing. There is probably some downside, weight, stiffness, etc. but I really don't know, it's simple just not done on Tour quality frames.

Forgot Giant :doh:! that Rabobank rode, had to go look it up. TCR Advanced SL, even the 2011 model. External routing.

Cervelo S3 is a Tour-level frame - it has internal cable routing
Pinarello Prince and Dogma appear to have internal cable routing on quick glance
BMC has more than one internal-cable frame model ridden at the ProTour level
Focus Izalco - I see some internally routed cables.
Look 695 - more internal cables
