Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Summer Solstice Ride

After about a week of unseasonably winter-like weather, today the sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the temperature was reasonable (20C).

Rowan and I got out for a 25 km evening ride after work on our single bicycles ... first single bicycle ride in a couple months! It felt good, but I am still breaking in that new green Brooks B17.

Sounds good. We've actually had a couple of days of almost-warm temperatures (80 or so) the last couple of days, which just seems wrong for Christmas.

I've seen elsewhere on the web where people were doing winter solstice rando rides at night, but I didn't try that.

Yes, I noticed that too ... I think there was a 200K in the PNW.
