Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

OP: Your use of the word 'like' would send most thinking people for the door so perhaps your Christmas gift was having someone to spend the holiday with someone who cares about you.

I don't really do the gift thing. I make gifts for people when I feel like it. Since I don't receive a lot of gifts I do appreciate getting them, even if they suck.

My brother attempted to get me something cycling related, instead I got a card that said:

"We went to the bike store and all we learned was we should leave the cycling stuff up to you"

And it had cash instead.

-cycling calendar
-a couple of GP4000s tires
-new hubs CK R45 for my dream wheel build. (I think my LBS helped out here)

My firemen neighbour whose dog I look after when he is on shift gave me a very nice hitch mount bike carrier.

Not braggin. Just sayin, they don't always miss.
Just make sure you run an OG-1090 cassette on that if you don't want to replace the freehub body every season.

Correct.

Yesterday I helped a customer who was buying Christmas presents at the last minute - because her house had just burned to the ground. She was using an American Red Cross debit card to pay for her gifts. Events like that help to put things in perspective.
