Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes, they are made to hold wheels. I got all the stuff from a company called "Rudy Rack".
www.rudyrack.com great stuff and pretty cheap.

everyone at work agrees that you have the most awesome bike room ever. I couldn't find the hangers for the bikes at the rudyrack web site, do you have a link for them?

I'll have to ask my coach if I can take pictures of his house and put them up here. Every room has bikes in it or something to do with bikes.

To unterhausen,

The bike racks are here: https://www.rudyrack.com/WallRack.html
The wheels racks here: https://www.rudyrack.com/Accessorydisplayinfo.html
You will need some slat wall to hang the wheel racks and helmet racks. I installed the bike racks right to the wall with no issue.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for the compliments.
Once its all done and done I'll post final pics.

Looks great, but you're missing at least one mountain bike.

I do have one...I used to race MTB (XC) here in Canada; I even raced one full season as an Elite (raced against guys like Ned Overend!). I did not do well but still enjoyed my time as a "pro".
I still have my GT LTS in the garage. I should pull it out and get it in the room.

Nice room! Isn't it funny how several bikes and workout equipment can drive a partner crazy?

It has done a good job of that so far. I've been open a year as of last November, and I haven't paid myself yet.

By mid-spring though, I hope to have a shiny custom Cyfac (Vintage or Vintage Rando) of my own hanging in there...

You will need some slat wall to hang the wheel racks and helmet racks.
What slat wall, though? Isn't a particular kind or size needed? I looked at the Rudyrack site, but I didn't see any specifics about the slat wall.

It's just slatwall. There's only one kind, really.

Once i " 'splanied" it to her that in our home she has a huge walk in closet, the closet in the office and the spare bedroom closet full of her clothes and shoes and I have a basically unused room in our basement that is now properly organized, she kinda smirked and said that i was right.
