Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

small case for interchangable lenses?

I love my Jawbones, but that case they came with is HUGE.
I often start a ride in the fog (insert snark here) and then the sun comes out. I want to change lenses after a couple of hours.

I'm looking for a small case that will keep my lenses from getting scratched up in my jersey pocket. I can't believe Oakley doesn't make a zillion dollar one, but they don't.

Anyone have alternatives or a cleverly repurposed item that will do the job?

I took that cleaning cloth had wife fold in half sew the bottom and sides and the center to make 2 pockets and small velcro tab place a lens in each side fold and velcro holds it together I then make use if that little red pouch that came with my Sram Red Cassette by putting it inside an into my seat bag it goes you can just put that inside your jersey pocket.

One of the bags that came with my jawbones has lens pockets built in to it, just insert each lens and roll it up.

I don't even carry extra lenses for that exact reason.

Major "Duh" for me. I got the bag out, and sure enough, there is indeed a lens pocket! Thanks!
I'd still like to have shell to wrap it in. I got prescription bifocal lenses and they weren't cheap. I'd like to make sure I never hurt them!

Lenses in just a cloth bag will get damp from sweat in your jersey pocket.

I trimmed down a corner of a bubble pack overnight envelope and taped up the side, and the cloth bag just fits in there. But I have to be careful not to lean back against that pocket.

To make sure there's no dust or grit, I wash out the cloth bag occasionally and air dry it.

I had one of these cheap plastic boxes that was a good fit for the lenses in their bag, but it was just too much trouble, and a bit bulky. I only tried it a few times. But I actually still use it if I'm carrying spare lenses in a duffel bag or something similar.

My el-cheapo Tifosi glasses came with a case that has a soft internal "rack" type thing for the spare lenses. You could find a pair of those glasses for super-cheap on Bonktown and cut out the lens-wallet part or see if Tifosi will sell you just the case and you could do the same surgical intervention.

Or just send me your Jawbones and I'll send you my Tifosi glasses with case. Problem solved!
