Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road bike decals, vinyl, designs, trim, custom paint??

Does anyone know where i can purchase decals/vinyls designs for road bike frames? Like trim kits and stuff like that, Not any lettering decals, just colored strips and so fourth. I have a blank carbon pinarrello fp2 frame which I regret getting blank, i want to give it a sparkle so its not confused with non-brand chinese carbon frames and would like to give it a little touch up with some red and white decals. Or atleast find some sheets where i can just cut my own stuff and stick it on?? I'd appreciate it for any little help on where to find such stuff
thanks

Some autoparts stores and craft shops carry all kinds of decals.

It's "Pinarello" I think. There was a thread awhile back where some goof was trying to justify putting those deals on his ebay Chinese carbon......

Here you go this company is in the U.K. but reliable and hi quality. I bought some for my wheels and they were just like the originals in color and design.
Shipping was good and packed well was very happy.

go to those window tinting place, most of them will have a computer vinyl cutter.

you just give them the file and they can trim out exact what you need.

i think california tint at rosemead does decal, or search for vehicle wrap place for commercial van/truck, there's one in long beach called source vehicle wrap(or something similar)

Sorry typo error. Enlish is not my first or second language so excuse my grammer and spell
Really? Like putting brand name on his chinese frame??
The frame I have was given to me by a relative in padova, italy. My uncle told me the frames are made in taiwan and shipped to italy where their painted and built and then shipped to stores that is why they don't say made in italy but rather Fatta da Pinarello(made by pinarello). I got it as a gift but was told it was deffected but I dont see any sign other than on the outer BB where it was probably rested on the floor and the laquer on the frame was blemish.
But asside from that all I want is to give it color, not show off any name because it has no point if pinarello in italy didn't do any work on it other than take it out of a box and given to a relative of mine since it has a deffect that is only a scuff. Do you understand what I mean? Don't want to be moving billboard on wheels like a trek. Just want add color to match my red jerseys that I wear to show pride in my cycling hobbie that all my family follows

Thanks that is good idea, I was looking on youtube on those vinyl printer cutters or whatever there called. seems to be able to do exactly what I want. Would like nice curved stripes going around entire frame and looks possible. Would I have to spray lacquer to frame afterwwards because I was told that thats how its done to prevent pealing?? Somehow I should have waited to get a finished frame rather than taking this one but i just could not wait since I had no good bike other then just a old schwinn and bianchi because of theif at target taking my good bike and I think everyone here knows 80s year old relics today are no comfort on long rides so at least im fortunate of having family working in bike business and giving this frame free and me having a spare set of 105 in my garage. But yeah ill go ahead and give a local tint shop a visit with bike to see how they improvise

If you are going to design something of your own you need to have Vector art that is outlined thats what the programs they use require for plotters that cut vinyl.
In fact if you have something in mind let me know. PM me I have access to one.

For being in the U.K., their grasp of the english is a bit lacking. From their front page:

"It make your bike more beautiful" and "Tell us what sticker you need. We'll make for you."

Sounds like a bit more of an asian company selling through the U.K. I also wonder how they can get around copyright law to make those. Not that any of that would stop me when I repaint my old Sirrus soon...

Yeah probably is but I think it's worth the try if they're as good as people review their stuff. Asian industry replicates just about anything and theres nothing that one can do for they do not exercise/inforce such copyright law practices as the UK and US does
