Bought a trainer now I can't find a fan

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bought a trainer now I can't find a fan

Every store I asked they tell me to come back in May

Okay.. so I can't edit the title of the thread.. I meant fan, no clue why I wrote frame.

Have you looked online? Lots of stores (Target, Amazon, Walmart, Sears, etc) have fans. You could also try Goodwill, pawn shops, etc.

If you can't use a trainer without a fan, don't go to Europe?

But seriously, I don't use one since I don't have one. Just get a towel or you know - troll craigslist.

I bought a small fan at the local Target for $15 recently. I started spending more time on the trainer last month. So I needed one. Screwed it to the ceiling in front of the bike, in my dungeon, and it works awesome.

It's winter - set up in garage or near a door/window that opens to outside, and you're good.

Forget a house fan, go to Home Depot and get a high-velocity blower. We have one at work, which I use for indoor training there. Serious airflow.

Solves the problem of not enough airflow. Might make you bald, too.

Hilarious! You could always ask your girlfriend/wife/brother/friend to assist you...she could wave a towel in front of you? That way you get a meaningful time together...? The essence of a support rider!

I tried Canadian Tire, Bestbuy, Home Depot, Superstore, Walmart... none of them carry fans right now.
Looks like I found one on craigslist though.

Thank you for adding to your post count but I don't live in the US and even if I was I'm not going to buy a fan on the internet.
Do you know why? Yeah, it's the shipping thing.
And I'm going to pretend I didn't read your other "helpful" suggestions.

Ask your significant other to stand next to you and every 2 minutes ring a cowbell. Bingo, you have a fan.

Seriously, I agree with the high velocity floor fan or if that's too much get one of the stand up fans so you can point it right at your face. And there's this internet store that has everything you could possibly want. I recommend Prime shipping. Imagine wanting something and the next day some guy knocks on your door and hands it to you? Ah, good times. GL

I like this one. It sits on the floor but can be pointed up or down. 10 foot power cord makes it easy to position.

I went through that issue back in October, but was able to find one at Lowes - like Home Depot. They had about 5 left.

As for the suggestions of riding the trainer outside or opening the window - just being cold and having cool air blown on you are two different things.

As you ride, you generate heat that radiates off your body. A fan will blow that heat away. Being out in the cold just makes you cold and forces your body to exert energy to warm itself and to perform the exercise, frequently meaning a less productive training session. Plus, if it's below 60, things like knee warmers become necessary.

Skip the fan and suffer. It's what I usually do. Gives you two kinds of suffering to think about.

Im breaking in a new (used) Brooks, so no fan, as its better that I sweat all over the leathery thing so that it'll shape to me quicker.

liked the cowbell fan comment.
