pedal fitting?
if you buy pedals at a LBS (as opposed to online) do they typically adjust your cleats with the purchase? I know mileage will vary...
I'm thinking about making the switch from SPD to look pedals & while the fit on my bike(s) is right, i occasionally get some soreness in my knee (left) and hip (right)
somebody I work with suggested I get "fit" for my pedals. If I am going to spend the money switching & there is a perk to buying from the LBS, I'm inclined to go that route.
thanks in advance...

You know, I'm unsure if my local shop does free fittings with the purchase of a pedal set. However, I do know that they do a dedicated appointment pedal fitting for $60, which I don't think is that big of a fee comparative to the health of my growing and developing knees.

I think a decent LBS would help you install the pedals and spend a few minutes fitting you but it probably depends on the shop and how busy they are, etc....in other words yes on a tuesday morning, no on a saturday afternoon.
Probably best to just ask them. But you can also fit yourself, it's really not rocket science IMO.

its going to depend on the shop but it wouldnt hurt to call and ask. i would guess if you were buying shoes and pedals that they would especially if they were not busy as others have said. normally at the shop where i work we do not do fittings when someone buys pedals but thats mostly because they dont normally ask. most of the time i would be more than happy to help set someone up if they ask.
