Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bike sizing via Eff TT

Hi guys,

am currently riding a CAAD9 50cm bike with a 52.5cm ETT, and was looking at ordering a Pedal Force frame to build up a new bike.

I would like a TT around 53-53.5cm.

Question is this - these two frames have different geometries, and the RS3 frame with a 53cm TT is actually a size 48, while the ZX3 with a TT of 53.5cm is a size 53. The ZX3 has a taller head tube too, but what I would really like to know is, if I needed a 53cm TT, would a 48cm RS3 fit somewhat like a 53cm ZX3?

Seeing the the ETT length, HT and ST angles are about the same. The main difference would be HT length as you mentioned.

I would say that a 48cm RS3 and a 53cm ZX3 could be adjusted to provide similar fit according to numbers alone.

Thanks for taking the time to go thru the geometries.
