Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You want me to yell at you so you feel at home? just kidding, of course

I know how you feel. I missed the entire middle eighties to early nineties in medical training. You give up the best years of our life for this stuff sometimes. It's quite a trade off.

I know that's true! I turn 30 this year so I think I can still get some form back but it'd have been nice not to miss 29 and most of 28.

I'm back but not exactly with a vengeance or anything

It's just good to have the motivation and some semblance of health to get back in the saddle.

Docs think it was from taking Accutane in my late teens/ early 20s. I've got a great complexion and an eff'd up G.I. system. Go figure...

LONG time
I rode only handful of times in all of 2010.
Things are looking much better for 2011 [even though I sold almost all of my coolest bike shwag since I wasn't riding; put a down payment on a Volvo C30 with the cash I made from selling my Wilier Cento].

Once some time has gone by, those things you missed you'll no longer miss. For the most part.

Oh, welcome back SushiJoe.
