Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Upgrading brake calipers

I found a great price on 105 brakes and was wondering how difficult it is to swap them out. Couldn't find any videos on replacing brake calipers. I assume I would just remove the bolt off the back, take the old ones off, slide the new ones on and reconnect the cables and be done with it. I'm not much of a mech.

You pretty much described it. There's a few fine adjustments you need to make but you'll figure it out.

It's amazing...I can't find one single video or article describing how to remove an old brake caliper and install an new one. THOUSANDS on how to adjust brakes and how to remove brake levers.

When I chucked my crappy OEM brakes for a pair of SRAM Rivals, here's what I did:
Cut off cable end and removed cable from caliper
unbolted the caliper from the frame/fork
matched the stock hardware length to the new through nuts that SRAM provided
and I finished the install according to the info sheet.

You'll need a cable cutter, a few cable ends, 4 and 5mm Allen wrenches or bits, and a wrench to fit the mounting stud - SRAM Rivals are centered via the mounting stud, most others are centered via a screw on one of the arms.
