Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

BMC SLC01 Torque Specs

I just purchased a BMC pro machine SLC01 frame. The frame is a new 2009 leftover. The shop i bought it from did not have the manual for the bike. I'm building it up now and need to know the torque specs for all the bolts. I.e. the brake mounts, FD clamp, stem, bottle cages and seat clamp bolts. I have sent an e-mail to BMC and have not heard back from them yet. The weather here is getting nicer and I want to ride. I'm not going to torque everything down though until I get the right values. So...if anyone out there has a 2009 BMC SLC01 and doesn't mind sharing the torque specs, my frame and I would appreciate it.

I have the same bike but i do not know the torque spces for any of the parts mentioned except for the seat post, rdubbz already mentioned it though. I can try grabbing the manuals for it when i have time and see if it's mentioned in there.

Is correct...however, I don't think it's necessary to go that high. 7Nm and 6Nm is plenty to be honest

Agreed, the torque specs for most things on a bike like seatposts and stems are the maximum torque allowed. You just want to tighten things so that they are firmly in place, without exceeding the maximum torque.

Using carbon fiber aseembly paste, such as Tacx helps in this regard.
